2020 Mid Market Executive Compensation and Culture Study

In August 2020, AchieveNEXT, in partnership with Insperity, surveyed a cross-section of US-based emerging and mid-market CFOs and CHROs about executive compensation and workplace culture. The resulting study provides finance, HR and other C-suite leaders with a reliable, unbiased source for benchmarking executive salary, incentive programs and culture against similar enterprises.

“While mid-market enterprises and their employees continue to feel the stress and pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting economic crisis and ongoing issues around racial injustice, most finance and HR leaders remain optimistic about the path forward,” said AchieveNEXT CEO @Nick Araco. “Temporary adjustments have helped businesses navigate through turbulence, while a renewed focus on agile, transparent leadership has helped them boost and align their employee and customer experiences.”

This year’s study provides a cross-sectional view of base salary compensation and short- and long-term incentive plans for emerging and mid-market companies. As in previous years, the study also looks at the connection between culture, compensation and enterprise performance. However, unlike in the past, this year’s report reveals how employer’s actions and practices have developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on
performance and culture.
